[S U P E R N O V A]

My little shooting star
My lovely supernova
Shining brighter than any other
And the darkness echoes afterwards

I saw you through a telescope
Far away in another world
Shining brighter than any other
Just a sign that you’re about to implode

Taking notes, writing coordinates
I glance through the telescope
Over and over again
In the hopes or seeing your light another day

Eventually
You’ll have reached your limit
The ticking of a time bomb
Waves of sound racing through the universe

Another glance- and you’re gone.
Surely, I’ll never see you again
But it’s okay, because I have coordinates and signatures
And the burning imprint of a supernova in my brain
