[E C H O]

There’s a cliff
A rock in my hand
I want to throw it down
Until it shatters on the ground

I want it to echo
Until it makes your head explode
And you drop down with it
But you won’t echo

I have this stone in my hand
And I want to throw it down that ravine because
It’s the ugliest stone I’ve ever seen
And there’s no point in keeping it

And I’d love to tell you what that stone is
But if you read this and you know you’d know anyways
At least the stone is only what it is and not what I want you to think
So nobody will care if it bursts into a million pieces when it hits the ground

I take a swing and slam it down
It’s in the air for way too long
I wish it’d go faster, go faster
But it doesn’t

And it’s not enough
It slows down and lands on the ground as if it were a feather
A stone will never be enough
Guess I’ll have to do it myself
