The idea for this poem came to me during the last moment (That I can recall) that I spent with my cat, Lucky. He sadly had to be put to sleep shortly after. But every time I’m sad, I think back to that moment and tell myself not to be too sad about what happened in the past, because I might miss the new, beautiful opportunities that are waiting to be discovered.
You can see Lucky here.

[L E A V E S]

There once was a boy
Let´s call him Henry
He was laughing with joy
When he planted a tree

He took care of it good
Saved it from drought
Spent all of his childhood
To make sure it missed naught

Months passed by
The tree grew tall
Until one night
Cold started to fall

Henry woke up
He had a good sleep
But when he looked out
He started to weep

Everything that he worked for so hard
The little, delightful, nice, frail leaves
Started to slowly fall apart
The wind stole them, like a thieve

The boy, he cried
For weeks, for months
He had denied
To look out once

So he did not see
What happened in spring
To revive his tree
Tiny buds were growing

Henry sadly missed the beauty
Of what he had created
Thought he had have failed his duty
To save the tree from being faded
